TQ My first experience of making resin clouds in a globe!
Super excited as I've been watching many resin craft videos from the experts and I'm very interested to make some of the 'Clouds' resin creations that is using kneaded eraser as the material to mimic the clouds.
Now, let's talk about the materials needed to prepare for this resin project.
- UV Resin
- UV Lamp
- Resin Colors (Blue, White & Pink)
- Star Charms Fillers
- 10mm Caps
- Kneaded Eraser (Fresh & not dried up)
- Silicon Mold (Globes / Balls)
- Silicon Cups
- Silicon Sticks
- Tweezer
Wasn't too difficult to make, to be honest (You'll know if you watch my video). But it wasn't perfect from first trial either. I've made 3 in total but I only documented the first one (Blue & Pink).

The methods and handling will allow you to achieve a very nice resin clouds globe, you just need to practice a few times and you can get the coloration and layers to perfection, like I'm super pleased with my third globe, which is the clear & pink one. From my first 2, I should reduce the 'blues' and 'whites' pigments as I added each layer so that we can retain more of the 'clear' resin in order to let the pink clouds stand out. The combination of the blue + white + pink looks very pretty and an eye candy, but it shifted the focus on the very cute little pink clouds I've ingested inside the resin globe. So this is a great learning for myself when I attempt to make resin clouds again next time.

I had ordered some off-white (Almost close to white-white) kneaded eraser as I only have colored ones left. I'm very keen to create a little Sky Globe given that I've now tried three times. Am waiting for it to arrive and I can show you the process. Can't wait!!! When I was younger, I used to draw and doodle, hence I had a lot of different kneaded erasers. When I was living in Singapore, there was a very popular bookstore called Kinokuniya, and I would always go there and check out their stationary section. That was where I collected all the cute kneaded erasers imported from Japan. I never knew that kneaded eraser can actually dry up! And that was until I tried to pull and stretch that one & only white kneaded eraser that I've kept for like 10-12 years... Haha.... It was completely dried up. Since I've recorded that, I made it into a silly blooper shot just for fun.
Bloopers about that Dried Up Eraser
Now, I've started to learn about resin jewelry making since August last year, 2020. And as with most people, I learn it from the YouTube and videos from facebook and instagram. Pinterest is a great source of inspirations too as Pinterest is always filled with beautiful things. There is a channel that I love, of which I got inspired to try out how to make this resin clouds from. It's a Japanese YouTube channel called Popokuro and I was learning the steps via this video, though I used kneaded eraser instead of soap. Popokuro is so much more skilled and I get very inspired with their work and clever use of materials to create interesting effects.
Well, that's the end of my blog for today! I hope you enjoyed reading and watching the videos! Get your hands dirty and try making it too!!!
Love
TQ
