TQ How to make a resin aquarium keychain

Recently, I've been testing out different molds and methods to create a mini aquarium, ocean, waves, beach kind of resin craft.

I was shopping at Marshall with my family and was combing through their kitchen section, and I found a set of 2 honeycomb ice cubes molds for a very affordable price. The mold shape is so cute, I thought I can try to make a resin craft out of it.

And an aquarium came to my mind, since I just recently got my transparent film of mini fish, I thought that this would be a nice project to try out at home this weekend. With this film, I believe the variety of fish is with the Japanese Koi family. I've chosen the red-white koi for my resin aquarium project. It looks the cutest and I thought the color combination with my dried pressed flowers would be the prettiest.

This was not an easy project. I actually failed the first round. Maybe I was a little too impatient or maybe it was because of the silicon mold, that it is not white/slightly translucent in color but it is in opaque yellow/orange. The UV light curing was not done well with the usual duration that I would use for a resin of this size, the first aquarium came out uncured in the middle portion..... Argh....

The successful keychain is the second one that I've tried with the honeycomb ice cube mold, as you have seen in the video at the top. Given the flop with the first one, I was super cautious with the second one and did each layer thinly to make sure that I can cure each layer properly before proceeding to the next layer.

It is also the first time that I did sanding of the entire resin craft. That was quite fun. I'm glad that I mastered the glossy coating method from other resin crafters online. This skill has helped me to make a lot of my resin work more polished and professional.
